Ten rounds in Lagos: Zodsolo at Chaos in the Ring

On 1 October 2026, Nigeria’s Independence Day, Godday “Zodsolo” Appah walked out at the Federal Palace Hotel in Lagos for Chaos in the Ring, promoted by Balmoral Group Promotions. AfroAlien Fit was in his corner as his official sponsor.

Moving down a division

Zodsolo came into the night as the reigning WBO Africa Cruiserweight Champion, a title he won at the same venue on 1 May by beating Ezra “The King” Arenyeka. For this fight he moved down to light heavyweight to face Ghana’s Seth “Freezy Macbones” Gyimah for the WBO Africa Light Heavyweight title.

Before the first bell

Pad work, the warm-up and the hand wraps: the last hours of preparation before the walk to the ring.

Ten rounds

The fight went the full ten rounds and was decided on the judges’ scorecards, with Gyimah taking a close decision.

The work continues

The result did not go his way, but the title he won in May is still his. Zodsolo remains the WBO Africa Cruiserweight Champion and is ready to defend that belt at his natural weight.

For AfroAlien Fit, backing an athlete means standing behind the discipline, preparation and sacrifice that go into every fight, not only the result. We stand for the work.
